Edison’s Sophia Colucci Signs Na
tional Letter of Intent with Siena College Softball
EDISON, NJ – Sophia Colucci has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball at Siena College in Loudonville, New York. She will join the Saints in the fall of 2025 under head coach Casey Bump and assistant coaches George Cooper and Michelle Connors.
Currently a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Sophia has been a standout athlete as a four-year varsity player. Serving as the team’s third baseman, she concluded the 2024 high school season with a .358 batting average, ranking among team leaders in hits and RBIs. Her impressive season earned her spots on the All Red Division Team and the All County Second Team.
Sophia also plays for the New Jersey Batbusters 18U team, coached by Ken Fry. Before joining the Batbusters, she competed with the New Jersey Nightmare 18U Gold team under coach Brian Kalesse.
Choosing Siena
Sophia selected Siena College, the reigning 2024 MAAC Champions, as the perfect fit for her academic and athletic future. "When I walked the campus, I instantly knew it was where I wanted to be," she shared.
Acknowledging Her Support System
Grateful for the support she's received, Sophia expressed her appreciation: “I wouldn’t have had this opportunity without the help of my coaches and teammates and the encouragement of my friends and family.” She extended special thanks to Coaches Brian, Dan, Jen, and K for their guidance and mentorship throughout her softball journey.
Sophia is set to bring her talent and dedication to the Saints, ready to make her mark both on and off the field.
